Abstract:

TestLink is an open source, web-based Test Management System, written in php; it requires MySQL, Postgres or MS-SQL at the back-end.  TestLink enables one to create and manage test cases, map software / system requirements to test cases, and organize the test cases into test plans.  TestLink has in-built user administration to create users, manage and assign specific roles to each user, and has the ability to generate a number of test reports and metrics dynamically to keep track of the testing status.  This presentation is intended to provide the audience details on how to setup and use TestLink and will cover the following topics:

  • TestLink Installation
  • Create Project
  • User Administration
  • Add Requirements
  • Add Test Specification
  • Map Requirements to Test Cases
  • Create Test Plan
  • Generate Reports and Metrics

Speaker:

Nixon Augustin is a software engineer at Brocade Communications Systems.  He has 12 years of experience in hardware / software product development and testing.  He began at HCL, Chennai (India) as a hardware / firmware design and development engineer, and over time moved into test automation.  Prior to Brocade, Nixon worked at HCL, Cisco, Maranti Networks, and Hewlett-Packard in consulting and full-time roles.  His interest is in providing simple, flexible, innovative, and low-cost automation solutions to complex test scenarios and in applying best practices to make life easier for test suite end-users and developers.  Nixon holds a Bachelors degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore (India).

 


Meeting Information and Directions

Meetings are usually held on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm.   Professional networking after the meeting.   SSQA attendance qualifies for RUs towards recertification by ASQ and other professional organizations.
